Methodology

Methodology: how the compounded GLP-1 prices were collected, and what all-in means

The rules behind the compounded price table: the unit, the two reference doses, what all-in includes, how prepaid terms and odd billing cycles are converted, the three observation methods and why secondary rows never enter a median, how brand reference prices are kept separate, and how FormBlends' own offer is handled.

Methodology

Why a compounded vial and a brand pen are not prices for the same product

The regulatory, product and pricing differences between compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide and Wegovy, Ozempic, Zepbound or Mounjaro, written by a site whose parent sells the compounded version: what FDA approval covers and compounding does not, what the shortage-resolution dates changed, why compounded prices have no list price, what is inside each price, and how to compare honestly when you must.

How to read a GLP-1 price

Almost nobody pays the list price, and almost every quoted monthly price is really a 28-day price, which is 13 fills a year rather than 12. Savings cards have a floor, a per-fill cap and often an annual cap, so the $25 headline lasts only while the plan pays the rest. Self-pay tiers step up with the dose. Compounded offers bundle fees, memberships and shipping in different ways. Every page here separates those pieces and dates them.

What this index does not do

It does not rank providers, recommend a product, or treat compounded and brand prices as prices for the same thing. Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are not FDA approved and are not interchangeable with Zepbound, Mounjaro, Wegovy or Ozempic. Prices change without notice; the access date on each figure tells you how fresh it is, and the methodology page tells you how it was collected.
